Meet Doug Ennis
Trustee and Board President
Doug Ennis, trustee and President of the Elmhurst Parks Foundation, has been a passionate supporter of the Elmhurst Park District since his family’s move to the community. Hosting his daughter’s second birthday party at Pioneer Park marked the start of his family’s active engagement with the Elmhurst parks, facilities, classes, and leagues. Regular outings on the Prairie Path remain a beloved family tradition.
Professionally, Doug works in technology, skillfully balancing his busy career with his commitments to the Foundation. A graduate of John Carroll University, he is actively involved in their local alumni chapter and also enjoys DJ-ing.
Doug previously served as a Commissioner for the Elmhurst Park District, where he championed initiatives to enhance community spaces and services. A few notable contributions include his involvement in the Playground for Everyone at Butterfield Park and helping to establish a tobacco-free parks policy.
After completing his term as Commissioner, Doug rejoined the Parks Foundation with a renewed purpose: to expand its reach and awareness, grow membership, and create meaningful opportunities for the community to support parks and programs. He takes great pride in the Foundation’s growth and transformation and feels honored to contribute to its mission.
Thank you, Doug, for your unwavering dedication and impactful contributions to our Elmhurst parks!
