Meet Erica Blawat

Trustee

Erica, one of our newest trustees who joined the Elmhurst Parks Foundation in 2024, brings tremendous expertise and enthusiasm to our board, and we’re thrilled to have her with us.

With over 20 years of experience as an architect, Erica has a deep passion for historic preservation. She has also led art classes for children and is a proud mother of two talented kids! Her daughter Addison created the engaging Wilder Mansion activity pages that the Foundation shared at this year’s Fall Fest.

Beyond her role with our Foundation, Erica serves as a commissioner on the Elmhurst Historic Preservation Commission and hosts Architectural Walking Tours for the Elmhurst Art Museum.

Given her impressive background, it’s no surprise that Erica’s favorite park in Elmhurst is Wilder. She loves the idea of having a mini museum campus in the heart of town, with beautiful green spaces, old-growth trees, and a playground—plus the added charm of housing the public library, art museum, conservatory with formal gardens, and a historic mansion.

Erica joined the Foundation motivated by a commitment to preserving open green spaces and ensuring that Wilder Mansion remains a treasured historical landmark for our community.
