Meet Vanessa Clohessy

Trustee and Vice-President

Vanessa is a trustee and vice president of the Elmhurst Parks Foundation Board, bringing more than 20 years of dedicated service to the Foundation.

A lifelong Elmhurst resident, Vanessa has many fond memories of participating in park district tennis, skiing and swim lessons and spending summers at the Elmhurst pools. She and her husband, Jim, later raised their two children here, enrolling them in park district activities like biddy sports, gymnastics, golf, tennis, art and more.

Today, Vanessa remains active in travel tennis, enjoys golfing at Sugar Creek, and her family holds a membership at Courts Plus.

The Clohessys are avid fans of Elmhurst parks, with Butterfield Park holding a special place in their hearts. Vanessa appreciates the nearby green spaces, as well as Butterfield’s pavilion, tennis courts, baseball fields, and walking path. She is particularly proud of the “Playground for Everyone” project at Butterfield Park, which the Foundation helped fund.

In addition to her role with the Elmhurst Parks Foundation, Vanessa was the Scoutmaster for Elmhurst’s first all-girls Scouts BSA troop and now serves as Scoutmaster Emeritus. Professionally, she is an attorney and partner at the law firm of Hodges, Loizzi, focusing on representing nonpublic schools. Her children are proud graduates of Timothy Christian Schools, and the family enjoys travel, sports, and all things outdoors.

Thank you, Vanessa, for your outstanding service—the Elmhurst Parks Foundation is deeply grateful for your dedication!
